Tips
Inventory / Ingredients
Inventory / Ingredients is where we dynamically track the things you need to produce the awesome products you plan to sell!
Fields and actions on Inventory / Ingredients
Price drift
Shows the difference from the last purchase to the current purchase. That helps you keep tabs on changing costs over time. Unfortunately it usually goes up. We can only sort of help with that :(
Last cost
The last purchase recorded. Your ledger tracks this and the data here is used for price drift, which impacts your margin and sometimes your supplier of choice.
Ideal stock
Ideal stock is the level you want for each SKU. Low stock compares current quantity to that target, including when you are within about 25% of ideal.
Export
Export sends your Inventory / Ingredients view to a file so you can audit, plan in a spreadsheet, or share a snapshot outside the app without changing live quantities.
Shopping lists
Shopping lists bundle what you need to buy. You can add lines from inventory, from low or out of stock signals, or merge smart suggestions into one run. The recommendation is to create one list per supplier but you can weave them all into one. Once you mark the individual item or whole list complete, your inventory will be updated with the new levels automatically.
Add and edit suppliers
Suppliers tie each item to who you buy from, lead times, and notes. Add new vendors as you diversify, and edit records when contacts or terms change.
Add stock
Add stock is for your one time initial load of inventory items. After that, quantities are managed via shopping lists and manual adjustments on each line. Do not use Add stock to record stock you bought on a shopping trip.
Tips & tutorials
Low stock uses your ideal target
By default we flag when you are near 25% of ideal stock. Tune the global threshold under Settings → Inventory if your kitchen moves faster than default.
Edit on the item card
Open any SKU on Inventory / Ingredients to adjust name, category, supplier, tags, and thumbnail inline, without a separate edit screen.
